Can I have a private post please.
Basically I’m looking for some advice, I have a 4 year old daughter who hasn’t seen her dad in 9 months. I split with her father 2 years ago and to begin with he had regular contact then after a year he began to make excuses and his regular contact slowed down. I took him to mediation to sort things out for my daughter’s sake. March this year he stopped picking her up. After exchanging numerous of emails with him of me begging him to see his daughter as she constantly asks for him he’s ignored majority of them and only recently he has said he doesn’t want anymore contact with her. Bearing in mind he lives 5 minutes up the road. When we split he moved in with his new girlfriend and her son. So it breaks my heart to think he’s starting a new family and wants to forget about his only daughter. I can’t afford to take him back to mediation for him to tell me again that he doesn’t want anything to do with her. He is the biological father and He is on her birth certificate. To cut a long story short I’m just wondering how I would go about taking him off her birth certificate, changing her second name to mine and for him to sign over his parental rights as he’s told me through email he doesn’t want anything to do with her. Please no nasty comments as it’s taken a lot for me to right this. I know i can’t force him to be in her life I’m just thankful that my partner now has been so supportive.
