Can I have a private post please, I split up from my husband of 4 years yesterday, we have 2 kids together, and hes moved out, the thing is we live in private rented accommodation where he was the working guarantor for the property but the tenency was in joint names, he wrote to the landlord to ask to take his name off tenancy which landlord agreed, the landlord rang me today to say he needs to do a new tenancy agreement asap in my name only but I need a working guarantor, I asked my husband today if he could continue to be working guarantor for the property so me and his two children have somewhere to live and he’s refused, he said he cant because he’s looking for a property himself and he’ll need to be a working guarantor for his own property when found. I dont know anyone that will be my working guarantor so what do I tell my landlord because he’ll want a working or homeowner guarantor and I don’t have one, I’m just scared i just don’t want me and my little ones homeless, can anyone advise me on what to do please. Thanks
