Can I have a private post please.
I’m on my 3rd pregnancy 2nd baby and booked in to be induced tomorrow. I’ve had 2 sweeps which have shown that I am dilating already, because of this my midwife said yesterday that if I do need to be induced they will only break my waters.
I’m so nervous and just wondered how this is done and how uncomfortable it is. Also did it take long after having waters broken to give birth.

With my 3rd he went 3 days overdue (other 2 kids, one was on his due date & one early!) Plus 3rd baby we knew was measuring large… So I thought my waters had gone- Turns out back waters were leaking- I hadn’t been offered any sweeps. Turned up at the hospital at 11pm, got checked & she said babies heart rate was dipping so they’d start me off, my waters for broke at midnight, which didn’t actually hurt at all, just a thin thing inserted which has a bit of a hook thing on it, gas & air was offered whilst this happened but it didn’t hurt at all. Contractions started slowly after the first hour (1am) but came quicker & more intense by 2.30am, baby was born by 3.06am… A huge 9.6lb, born with gas & air only- Well I had the morphine injected just as he then decided to appear so that only worked it’s magic after he was born & I felt drunk the whole of his first day alive 👍🤣
Breaking waters isnt painful. Ive had my waters broke 5 times. Only 1 that was lil painful was wen they had to hold cord bac while doin it. But over quik then ull be put on a drip get ur contractions goin
I was Induced on my 3rd by having my waters broke straight away it’s so much better than the tablet or jel it all happens so much quicker and isn’t painful at all if you’re worried just take a big puff of the gas and air x
Omg having it waters broken is amazing. U don’t feel it apart from the trickle of water… i enjoyed it when they did mine I was like 42 weeks when they did it. Xx
