Can I have a private post please..
NBR – so my dad has always been a drinker but lately it’s getting out of hand. He’s in a lot of debt because he borrows money so he can have a drink, he gets himself that drunk to the point where he’s falling in to walls and doors, falling up and down the stairs, arguing with my mam and my brothers. I have a 9 week old baby an I’ve told my dad that I will not be going round to see him anymore because I don’t want my baby growing up and seeing it all, yet he’s not bothered in the slightest. My mam is sticking by him and doesn’t understand why I’m doing what I’m doing. I’m just looking for a bit of advice on what I can do or say to him to make him understand that his drinking is making him lose everyone. No bashing please x

You have already said what you need to …you can’t force him into rehab or quitting neither can you force your mom into opening her eyes and realizing this is affecting the while family ….have visits on your terms and cut visits short ect if things get out of hand ….until they want to change all you can do is control how you respond or react to them
