Can I have a private post please.
So every weekend me and my partner have a ‘lie in day’ each. It’s his day today. Yet I’ve been up since half 6 to make my daughter a feed because he didn’t wake up. Now, once she has finished her bottle at around 7 she usually entertains herself for half an hour or so. But today she only stayed in bed for an extra 15 minutes or so and she began to fuss and fuss…and fuss. I was waiting for him to wake up and see to her but he never. She wasn’t crying to the point where she was hysterical but it was getting to me because I don’t like to leave her to cry at the best of times. He finally gets up after I’d say 15 minutes (that’s after me asking him can he hear her) and goes downstairs to see to the dog, before our baby! She obviously hears him go downstairs and becomes hysterical. You’d think he’d have heard her but no, or he did and he knew that I would get up to see to her. So I get up and go and get my poor baby who’s been fussing all of this time because it turns out she had poo’d! So I change her bum and give her some mummy cuddles while she’s still sobbing. He then comes up and asks me why I’ve got involved!? I’m thinking of packing in my lie in days because I just can’t carry on hearing him basically ignore her until he’s good and ready to rise. We both work through the week but it’s no exception to his laziness. Our daughter is so clingy to me and now I know why. He just doesn’t care to spend any proper time with her, only if he has to. And today he’s only doin so because I haven’t given in and gotten up. She was screaming as he took her downstairs away from me and then again at the bottom of the stairs. It breaks my heart but she needs to have a bond with her dad just as much as she does with me. She’s 19 months old and is my ray of sunshine. I’d do absolutely anything for her. Can other mummies please comment with some advice on what I should do in this situation? Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post x
