Can I have a private post please, so last night I was asked by my little sisters friend who’s 17 if I could look after one of her friends baby’s (who’s not even a year old yet) overnight.. baring in mind I don’t know the mother I’ve never met her and I’ve met the baby once when my sisters friend was looking after him and brought him round, I’ve got a little boy myself who’s 2 in January and I was asked to look after the baby by my sisters friend because she’s worried as the mother apparently just asks anyone to look after the baby.. I said no as I’ve got my little boy and I had nowhere for the baby to sleep either.. I’m feeling abit guilty that I said no but I explained I’ve not long recently lost a baby myself so 1) it would be like rubbing salt into the wound 2) I had nowhere for him to sleep 3) I’ve never even met his mother 4) he’s not really my responsibility as much as that sounds awful. My question is what would you do? I mean I’d never leave my boy alone with someone who I don’t know for an hour let alone overnight! I know the little boy and his mother already have social workers involved but I don’t want the little boy going to just anyone staying overnight, god knows what could happen.. what would you do? I’m absolutely mortified and I’m feeling so scared for the little boy, thanks
