Can I have a private post please….

So my daughter is 3 years old I split up with her dad 18months ago he is a terrible man and father he is an alcoholic and I’ve also found out recently he is on hard drugs. When I first separated from him I had a court order a restraining order on him as he was violent towards me and wouldn t leave me alone.. he has seen our daughter a handful of times but always let’s her down or turns back to drugs and drink so now I have put a stop to all contact with her. I have told him to take me to court and do it that way through a contact centre if he wants to see her. He hasn’t done so or contacted me regarding our daughter for months. She starts school next year and currently has her fathers s last name. She doesn’t know that name she knows her last name as mine. Is there anyway I can change her name legally without his concent he is on her birth certificate. Thanks
