Can I have some advice please? My lovely daughter who is nearly 3, has a poo problem! We have been potty trained for a few months with great success with wee’s but she will not do a poo in the toilet/potty. She is incredible happy to do it everywhere else though, pants, bath, when she goes to bed( can hold on!) I have tried reward charts, chocolate bribery( positive) to no communication, taking playtime away( negative). Other than totally ignoring it I am now out of ideas please anyone got any suggestions?

  • I’ve had this recently with my daughter she turned 3 in April had been in pants since Xmas but just had no luck with the poops and she would do it in her pants or wait till her night nappy was on, I spoke to her nursery bout ideas as we had also had the rewards chart with a chocolate as a reward n when she got to 5 she could get a toy, but her nursery told me to get a pot and some pretty marbles and everytime she done a poo she would have to put a marble in the pot, but thankfully this week (last 4 days) she has gone on the potty or toilet for a poo, she just done it when she was ready, think ur little girl will get there hun as frustrating as it is, I also noticed my little girl was windy b4 having a poo so took her pants off b4 I thought she would poo and worked a treat, hope that gives u some help and hope xx

  • It’s a waiting game I’m afraid. Has this with my daughter. It was a year from when we first started potty training her to pooing on the toilet. The more stressed I got the more she became defiant. So I adopted a different attitude and eventually she just took herself to the toilet and we’ve not looked back since. My only advise is to wait it out and don’t worry about it.

  • Does she wear a nappy at night ? Only asking as my son was the same,hv told me to get rid of nappies completely and after a few days they would eventually go on the potty /toilet . It worked and as cruel as I felt doing it .3 days later he couldn’t hold on no longer went to the toilet and that was that .xx
