Hello,
Can I have a private post please?
Well for the past 8 weeks almost me and my partner have not been living together. We are working things out one minute and the next at each other’s necks. I’m living in a house which we’ve rented off his Mam for the past 4 years. We have a 10 month old daughter and 2 months ago me and his mother had a big row. The kitchen Ceiling fell down because of a leak we had under the bath that was never fixed properly. The boiler brakes every other month and there’s damp in 3 rooms in the house. She won’t do any repairs anymore and went eggs ceiling fell down that was the last straw and I had a blazing argument with his Mam. My partner has decided to live with his Mam leaving me and the baby in the house. I work 16 hours and don’t claim anything apart from child benefit. Would I be able to claim anything? As I only earn £500 and he has paid he rent for the past two months but said it’s just a one off. We still don’t no weather we are sorting things out and I’m very hurt and we need a lot of time apart. Would I be able to claim anything? What if we did get back together in a few months time would I have to pay everything back as I don’t want to get in trouble for anything but my wages don’t cover much

  • What Katie said. Just if he moves back you need to tell them immediately. Also you need to make it clear to them that he won’t pay your rent anymore, nor anyone for that matter x

  • If your a single parent which if you’s aren’t living together an aren’t actually together at the minute then you are … you’d be entitled to working tax credit and housing benefit so you need to give the benefit office a call x
