Hey can I get a ppp?

I don’t know if I’m over reacting or not. I’ve been seeing this guy for a little over 5 months. Everything was fine at the start, then things got a bit rocky. We stopped talking for 2 days and he slept with someone else. We weren’t together tho, so anyway. We decided to have a proper go at things, he’s sat with my kids a good few times, stayed at mine etc so I thought I would make it ‘Facebook official’.. and he turned around and said to me no because he wants to make sure we are serious and close friends and family know and that’s all that matters and how much he loves me.
Am I totally over reacting, because last night when I did it and he came out with all that I felt embarrassed. The fact he said no. I know it’s only Facebook but I think it’s the principle, like he’s got something to hide. 5 month is quite a while so I don’t understand it. He always puts his phone face down aswell which is caused me to over think this whole situation, ughhhh
