Hey, can I have a private post please for my friend. It’s a bit sensitive, my friend found out she’s pregnant abou 4 weeks ago, she’s got really bad mental health, not financially stable, already has a child who’s 1 & is by herself as a Mum. She decided termination would be the best thing so she went for her scan dates 8 weeks & then spent the weekend in hospital taking her medications given by the ward. Anyway, nothing happened so she was sent home on Sunday to let it happen in time. It’s now Wednesday night and nothing has happened so she said she phoned the hospital again to let them know because she’s having no pain and no bleeding at all which means things have stopped. She’s poorly: sick, heart palpitations, can’t stand without fainting, dizzy etc ( she also has low iron, so this could be that too!) the hospital have booked her in for a scan tomorrow to see what’s happening as they think she might still be pregnant as the medication might not have worked properly & might need surgically removed. I’m not sure how to help her cause I’ve never been down that route but I’m wondering if anyone can help us and tell us what it’s like to have it surgically removed, is it an operation or is it just a smal procedure as she’s worried since it’s so close to Christmas and going on holiday the first week in Jan. Please help and no judging – she feels pretty bad as it is and doesn’t know what else to do. She’s done the right thing for her and her little one but definitely needs reassurance on what happens if that’s the step needed. Thanks for the long post x
