Hey. Can I have a private post please. Really need some advice and support.

So the story goes my little one is 15 months old. He still isn’t walking and I am getting a lot of judgemental comments for certain family members.

He was a late crawler he always preferred to bum shuffle everywhere. Then when we moved to a new house with carpets he was off straight away crawling. The health visitor said he was just lazy and that it wasn’t a problem.

But i have certain family members that keep trying to make him walk and he is getting frightened. With me at home on our own or with his dad he is fine keeps trying walking, walks along furniture confidently, standing on his own etc making all the right steps but when he is around these family members as soon as they put him to the floor he screams and gets completely beside himself. I have spoken them and explained that I don’t think it’s a good idea and I feel like he isn’t comfortable yet but it’s like banging my head against a brick wall.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Has anyone else had late walkers? I’m trying everything but now he seems scared I don’t want to push him to hard as I feel like me and his dad are the only people he will try With?

From one really stuck mum 😔

  • My twins didn’t start walking until they were about 17-18 months old. Nothing wrong with them they just did it in their own time.
Tell them to back off & that when he’s ready he will do it xxx
