Hey could you post a question for me anonymously.
My children’s dad hasn’t seen them for almost 8 years. Never paid a penny towards them. In and out of prison mainly for domestic charges and on and off drugs. Now he wants to see them. Does he have any rights? He is on the birth certificate. I’ve been with my partner for 10 years and we get married in under 3 months I want my children to have his surname so we are all the same and I would love for him to adopt them, is this possible with their biological father now saying he wants to see them. Thanks for any advice x

if the dad on birth certificate you cant change without his permission.wanting to see them he does have rights ling as no danger to them.
If he’s on the birth cert I believe he has to accept this for you to do so, I’m not sure don’t quote me but I think after a certain age you can do it with the child saying they want this xx
