Hi anyone had anything similar??

I’ve always had a cough that comes and goes. But I’ve had this cough now for 4 weeks and it will not go away! I’ve tried medicines and all sorts. I cough up white stuff sometimes too. It’s affecting my sleep also and just doesn’t seem to be shifting! My back aches from all the coughing. I’m 24 and have never smoked. No asthma or allergies either! I went to the doctor and they’re going to send me for an X-ray but what exactly for? They never really said and now it’s playing on my mind a little. She said she just wants to rule out a chest infection which she doesn’t think it could
Be as I’ve had it for so long with no cold or flu symptoms. TIA xx
