hi can I have a post please. I have recently broken up with my ex partner after moving into his dad’s with him, me and my family are going to collect my belongings tomorrow but he and his step mum are refusing to give back an xbox one s (i brought for him last year under the impression he was going to pay me back as he said he would) he is saying I brought it for him as a gift for his birthday and that he paid me the full amount back which isn’t true, he is also refusing to give back a phone (my nan brought it for me when my phone broke and he borrowed it while his broke) his step mum is telling me he will not be in the house when we get there and neither will the xbox or the phone. She also threatened with police if we do not leave her property when she wants to. We have spoken to the police and they have said to call them if he is not there with the items, but I’m unsure of the outcome of it. I have all evidence, bank statements, email confirmation of me and my nan buying the xbox and phone and also a message of him saying he will give it back and a conversation of us discussing that he hasn’t paid me any money for the xbox which I will have to hunt through messages to look for as it was a while ago. His step mum is now telling me she has won because the police are coming and I will not be getting my items back. Where do I stand with this? Will the police stay with us until she gets my ex to come back to the house with the items or not? They was not a gift and he has definitely not paid any money for them. Tia x
