hi can i have a post please? one whichever page is appropriate .. its kind of long but just dont wanna leave out any details.. I got the Mirena coil fitted in Sept just gone (12weeks after vaginal birth) before i got pregnant i had heavy and painful periods.. since getting the coil things have only gotten worse, the doctor kept telling me to wait it out and see how it goes…my periods have been lasting 2-3 weeks, very heavy and very painful, some months better some months worse. i got my period on the 23th of last month and it has only stopped 3 days ago but im still spotting and my ”normal” discharge has blood in it also.. and im getting really sharp almost stabbing pains in my lower right side, like the top of my vagina area not my actually vagina šŸ˜‚ the pain is more or less always there or has been for a few weeks but at times it gets really bad to the point where its traveling down my legs and making me feel ill and having hot and cold sweats..im only 18 with one child incase that matters .. i have called my doctor and cannot get an appointment till thursday, its a small practice and theres onlt a few doctors there.. ive used google which we all know is never a good idea and its telling me my coil is implanting into my womb, I’m not pregnant..i cant feel my strings but my doctor cut them very short to begin with. i have had sex but not much recently and that didnt make the pain any better or worse any advice on what to do?? i keep getting cramps like my period is about to start also.. should i see an out of hours doctor or what ?? i know nobody here can tell me whats wrong of course but from experience if you could tell me if you felt anything like this, or had this experience thanks šŸ˜Š

  • I had the mirena coil but had to get it taken out as i suffered with to many side effects from it, my bleeding did settle after a few months and only got the kind of pain youre talking about when i wouldve been due a period but i also suffered hair loss which is apparently a rare side effect but when i googled it it really isnt as rare as they led me to believe. Id rather have another baby then be bald so it was a no brainer to have it removed. Hope everything goes well for you šŸ˜ƒ
