Hi can I have a ppp. Hi everyone I’m just looking for advice on fostering and adoption please as I’m seriously thinking about doing it, iv already filled out an online application and spoke to someone on the phone about it and they said I am a perfect candidate for it and I can basically start the process when ever I’m ready, I’m just wondering what the process consists of? She said it takes between 4-6 months but because I already work part time in a private nursery and have got most of the qualifications that it wouldn’t be a long process for me, just wondering what else I will have to do? I live in my own house with a spare room, I’m nearly 29 years old and iv work in childcare for over 12 years, the reason why I’m only part time is because I am classed as disabled (my legs didn’t develop properly so my knee caps come out on a regular Basis because their is nothing holding them in place so I can’t walk for long periods of time or run ect, I get a lot of joint pain in them but control this with pain meds and physio) I told them everything and they said it doesn’t matter they will support me and give me help/advice when ever I need it and having a disability shouldn’t affect their decision, I’m seriously thinking of doing it as iv always wanted to be a mother but it’s just not happened for me yet I haven’t met the right person and also if I ever did get pregnant I’d be classed as a high risk pregnancy because of my condition and also would need to be on bed rest for the majority of my pregnancies, this just seems like the right step for me, I just want advice from people who have gone through fostering and adoption and has anyone gone through this on their own without a partner? I’m thinking about getting a baby or toddler as I can take it with me to work ect to make things easier and to get to know them/ spend time with them to build a bond and relationship with them before they have to go to school, thank you so much for taking the time to read this I know it’s long but I wanted to give you as much information as possible so you can understand my situation xxx
