Hi can I have a ppp? My friend recently told me she was pregnant and her and her partner have been together only a few weeks so they are both in shock.
She s not made any attempt to book a midwife appointment or sort anything out she said she’s more towards having an abortion and she said she just want to take a pill and for it to be gone, I talked to her about all the things that go wrong in abortions and it’s not just as simple as going in a room and taking a pill some midwife will want you to go for a scan, she thinks I am lying about the fact if you do have the pill abortion it may not work either.. she said she will pay for an abortion privately so she doesn’t have to have a scan? Is this true that if you go private you can just have a few blood tests and then a pill?… I’m trying to be supportive but I’m against abortion when it’s consensual & your both well off and house ect.. she s known the person along time too but only just starting seeing each other so it’s not like they are strangers.. any ideas of how I can just be supportive and voice a non bias opinion?

It’s not down to you to change her mind. It’s her body and her choice. If she knows her dates a lot of nurses won’t scan. If the do, they’ll turn screen away so she won’t have to see it. She can have the pill anything up to 8 weeks. Up to 20 weeks if it’s done in hospital. She can have the surgical option too if she prefers.
It’s not your decision. If she’s your friend then you should support her either way. Stop being so judgemental towards her I’m sure it isn’t any easy decision for her to make.
They will want a scan so that they can see how far gone she actually is. For an abortion there are two ways but the pill one will only work if she is not to far gone.
