Hi can I have a ppp X
Not baby related.
Right well at the begining of last month me and 2 friends were in a car accident it wasn’t major but was scary still a car went into the side of the driver and j was sat behind I’m also pregnant (12 weeks ) now. Anyway I’ve had some problems with my back it’s bit painful and had to have an emergency scan at 8 weeks due to cramps after the accident. Well we have put in a claim well we were contacted by a solicitor to do with my friends car insurance and she advised us to go forward with a claim. Well the other car has admitted full liability for injuries caused to me and so I have a physio appointment on Saturday to basically see how bad my injuries are and what the compensation would be. Has anyone been through this and can tell me what happened please and did you win and how much did you get? It’s not all about money before anyone says anything but I was injured and pregnant and my partner lost his job because having to look after me and our 2 children so I think we kind of deserve some good news and good luck.
Sorry for long post. Thankyou x

  • Her partner lost his job as a result of the accident because he had to take care of her and his children post injury did you not read that correctly!! So yes it is Loss of earnings, would you expect to look after 2 children yourself whilst pregnant experiencing possible miscarriage symptoms after being in a car accident 🤔 jeez #HighHorse #AdviceNeeded not unnecessary heartless opinionated busy bodies!!!!

  • Your injury has nothing to do with your partner losing his job. A claim should be done if the accident resulted in loss of earnings or medical treatment expesnses not because your partner lost their job and an accident happened at the same time

  • It’s hard to value ur injuries without seeing the medical report. You would also need concrete proof that ur partner losing his job was a direct result of him being off to take care of you. The value of the injury depends on how long the doctor stated ur injury will last. Any other losses are known as “special losses” and your solicitor will calculate them for u, but you will need evidence of every loss otherwise you won’t be able to include them as part of your claim. I hope you’re ok xxxx

  • It would be difficult to prove your back ache was caused by the accident and not normal pregnancy changes especially if your only in a bit of pain, which also suggest there’s no permanent damage luckily. You won’t be compensated for partner leaving his job, but they may pay for your physio which means it will be sorted quicker which is good news!
