Hi can I have a private post please, I’m 40 +3 weeks pregnant, had the stretch and sweep on Friday last week and lost my mucus plug an hour later, iv had a few sharp pains and twinges since but nothing to suggest the start of labour. Whilst having the stretch and sweep they said they could feel the head straight away and i was 2cm dilated, anyone else experienced something similar? Also got slight reduced movements horrendous swelling and itching also at the toilet an awful lot

I had exactly this in regards to sweeps and dilation 🙂 except was 41 weeks at first sweep, 2 days later had second sweep and was 4cm but no contractions – that was at 8:30pm had her at 4:34am the next day 🙂 good luck!! Any reduced movement you should ring your midwife!! Especially with your swelling and itching. Ring and notify them, see what they say, good luck xxxx
It sounds very like a silent Labour, just keep an eye out on your pains, if they are cramps like how period pains would be then I would be careful, I had a silent Labour at 39+1 and my plug waters and babies head come all in one. Before I had my baby I had been up to the hospital and they told me that I was 2cm dililated got sent home as I wasn’t in Labour and had him less than 5 hours later. but I had reduced movements,period pains and swelling and ichyness aswell, only you know your body, ring and speak to someone xxx
My neighbour had something she called a “silent labour” where she dilated and contracted but didn’t feel a thing (lucky cow right??) she felt nothing u till she was actually giving birth. (5 children and only happened once for her)
I would definitely get reduced movements checked out though
I’m 39 weeks Wed will be my 7th sweep I’m 3cm and my cervix is right at the front they can feel my waters and baby’s head is really low and I’m still pregnant (I’ve had lots of bloody shows ) x
Any reduced movement you should call the midwifes lovey. Just even for a little check up make sure all is okay. Good luck xx
If you have reduced movements you need to ring the hospital as there probably want to check everything is ok and see what’s going on xx
Any reduced movements need checking out ASAP. Call triage now xxx

Go straight to the hospital they will need to monitor you asap with reduced movement xx
I had the exact same thing and went on day 4 of being overdue xx
I would contact maternity unit not to alarm u but swelling could be pre eclampsia hope all goes well for u good luck 😊 xx
