Hi can I have a private post please
Just looking for some advice, I claim carers allowance for caring for my sick/disabled mum, my partner claims esa for himself and me as a joint claim as he had to stop working a few months back because his diabetes was getting out of control he is now returning to work this week even though his health isn’t too good but Personal independence payment declined him and we just cannot afford for both of us to be out of work, would him going back to work and stopping the esa claim affect me claiming carers for my mum, before anyone judges I don’t work at the moment as I care for my mum and have a baby that’s way too young for me to leave at the moment, just want to know whether him returning to work would affect my claim on carers as it’s me that’s the carer not him thanks for any replies c

Thanks for the replies, my partner will be working 25 hours a week bringing home 200 pound a week, I know if I was to work and earn over 121 a week it would stop but just wondered if it would stop because my partner would be earning more than that even though it’s me claiming the carers allowance, I know the esa would stop just wondered about the carers, many thanks x
I claim carers and I was told by Job centre that I can get a job 16 hours and still claim- my partner can get a job 16 hours and can still claim- I pretty sure you can as cares ain’t a lot of money at all x
ur esa claim will stop but carers allowance will continue while ur a carer
