need advice please

My daughter who is in year 3 said to me that she asked to use the toilet during class (teacher let her go) but her teacher made her stay in class at break time to do her school work. This has really annoyed me but what shocked me even more is that apparently she said to my girl “you wasted my time, now I’m going to waste yours!”
Who says that to a child? She basically got punished for going to the loo?! Surely that’s not right or am I being over protective of my daughter?
My girl was quiet upset not because she had to do school work during lunch time but because she bow thinks she’s upset her teacher and wasted her time 😡

  • This kind of thing pees me right off! My son was refused going to the toilet (he’s 5) and had 2 accidents in class and didn’t tell anyone because he didn’t want to be laughed at! So he stayed wet until he saw me at home time 😔 No kid should have to do that. I’d talk to the teacher and see if you can sort it x

  • Firstly, they should not be doing this whatsoever. Punishing a child for needing the bathroom during class is absolutely shocking! Honestly, I’d go straight to the school and ask for a meeting with the Head and the teacher who refused. Both of them at the same time! I’d also be handing in a written formal complaint so the governors are aware! Unless it is in writing the school don’t have to disclose to the governors that this happened! x

  • Go and speak to the teacher and tell them they cannot stop a child from going to the bloody toilet for God sake… If they need to go then they need the toilet end of..

  • I’d speak to the teacher, with a reasonable head on.. children often bend what actually happened.
