Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions to deal with anger?

I have always suffered since a messed up childhood but today I lost it over my kids messy play room. I fully shouted and swore twice at my poor babies (4 and 2) and really, really upset them.
I then felt unbelievably guilty as I failed as a Mummy so I went to the bathroom for 20 minutes to cry ridiculously before managing to explain to them that Mummy was very naughty to shout and making sure they were ok.

My biggest concern is that this was the second time my kids have seen it and I couldn’t calm myself down. I REALLY don’t want to end up like I did today and scaring my children again. I’ve done CBT for stress in the last 2 years and had counselling when younger – I didn’t find either helpful.

I understand this will make some parents angry reading but please, if you have nothing helpful to say, keep it to yourself… I know how damaging my behaviour could become and I’ve already punished myself unhealthily for it.
