Hi, can I have a private post please? My husband and I have an 8 month old. I’m nearing the end of my maternity pay so we are starting to struggle a little. Due to my sons health issues, I cannot go back to work earlier. We have 3 close family weddings over the next month. My husband is starting to worry about money and has asked me to ask my parents for part of my inheritance early. My parents are investing the money in a flat which they will pass to me when the time comes. They are scraping together the extra they need to buy a flat outright as this is what they have done for my siblings. My husband has had a go at me for not asking for it and is pressurising me to try to get the money. The way I see it, I am not entitled to have that money, my parents worked hard and struggled to put aside enough money to buy a flat each as an investment for myself and my siblings. My husband has previously told me to ask for it as a deposit for our house a few years back and my parents said they wish to keep the funds invested for me. My husband is angry and making out I am doing something wrong but I don’t feel i am. I understand we are struggling but I don’t think this Is the solution. Is he right to be getting so angry about this? Thanks for any advice xx
