Hi can I have a private post please … today my son aged 11 first year high school asked if he could tell me something and promised me to not tell anyone … we pinky promised ( hence the anonymous post ). But in this conversation my son told me he’s gay and that he likes boys … I tried to deal with this the best way I could I thanked him for telling me and that no matter what I would not judge him as he’s my son as long as he’s happy that’s all that matters he told me he had mentioned it to a few friends at school who have told him it makes no difference they are still his friends which I think is great that he’s had support … but he’s asked me if he’s going to get bullied should he tell people … he scared people are going to call him names I explained that where all different in our own ways and if we was all the same life would be boring unfortunately we live in a world with people who will give judgement on this … I just really need some advice on how to deal with this the best way for my son and also questioning that can he really be sure at the age of 11? Any help and advice would be appreciated x x
