Hi can I have a private post please?

My daughter is nearly 11 months and this is her second cold in less than 3 weeks! She’s got a really runny nose and this time she can only breathe through her mouth, but sometimes it’s seems she struggling to breathe? Does anyone know what I can do? She’s had the calpol plug in on, nasal spray, cot proped up etc.

Just need advice as hate to see her struggling 😞 thank you x

  • Well I was a disgusting mummy and used to suck the snot out of my second babies nose to help him breathe. Only because the suction tools never worked. Of course do spit it out after 😂
It’s not nice seeing them poorly but remember it’s building their immune system up. My youngest was born in October (cold season) and he was always full of cold with having our eldest coming home from school full of germs. 🤦‍♀️

  • Have u tried snuffle balm it’s a baby version of vicky it’s brilliant rub on chest back feet and I always put a tiny bit under nose. My son always has a cold and struggles to breath and this works great.

  • You could get one of those snot suckers to try and get the snot out of her nose. It sounds gross I know but they so work

  • This is my post, I know it sounds stupid but it’s like she’s breathing through her belly, when you breathe it’s obviously through the chest but I’ve been watching her and it’s all through her belly. I’ve tried saline sprays, calpol plug in for the past 3 nights etc. But nothing seems to be budging it 😞 she hasn’t got a temp, but definitely isn’t eating as much as what she normal does. I’m worried about dehydration but she’s still producing wet nappies x
