hi, can i have a private post to relevent page please? I’m 38+5 and had a sweep at 2:40pm today which I was offered by my consultant, midwife said my cervix was open a small amount and she tried to pull it forward, she said she has done what she can today and if nothing happens i have another booked for net tuesday. i’m not gonna lie it was really uncomfortable and i’m bleeding a little pink/brown and cramping mildly which she said is to be expected but I’m just wondering, as silly as it sounds, how do you know if it’s working? how soon after did things start happening if a sweep worked for you at this stage of pregnancy? I had nothing like this with my first and went 4 days over but I’ve had a difficult pregnancy just wondering what to look for. thanks x

If it’s worked you’ll lose your mucous plug, It’s like jelly and will probably be dark bloody coloured. Both of mines worked, 2nd time I wasn’t Nywhere near where I should have been on the mknday, sweep done and baby born 00.26 on the Thursday xx
Had a sweep at 40+ weeks about mid day ish contractions from 10 pm waters went at midnight beautiful baby girl by 3am 😍😍

I was exactly the same with my boy has had the sweep .. bleed a little with light cramps the next day the cramps got worse later that day I had contractions .. my waters broke the next morning I had him the day after
