Hi can you add a private post for me please? I’m looking to move up to Chichester from Southampton where my partner already lives. He has a 2 year old son so we have just applied on the housing register. Has anyone had any experience lately with council housing and how long it took from applying to finding a house? I know everyone’s situation is different however at the moment there’s 7 people in a 3 bedroom house, were struggling to settle the 2 year old, the 3 of us live out of a bedroom (no access to living room) just toilet and bath). He has his son every other weekend becos of current circumstances and he is desperate to have him more often! We cannot afford £1,000 a month rent for a small 2 bed place it’s crazy. We earn that each per month so it all seems so expensive and not doable. Amy advice? We’re going to CAB on Saturday to talk things through. Thanks in advance everyone 😊
