Hi, could I get a private post please?
My partner is Autistic and struggles in social situations, one of the main things he struggles with is finding the words to say to people so they don’t take him the wrong way, this has caused me to over think how others will take him and I often feel I have to explain to him that certain things he says might cause offence to others, he has no filter. Today, we were being served in the shop by a lady wearing reindeer ears, and he said “aww they make you look cute” the lady blushed and this made me blush too, I told him when we were in the car that she might have thought he was flirting with her, and might have been embarrassed because I was there. He got really upset that I might have thought he was flirting with someone, it made me question myself.
Did I over think it again? If a random bloke told you that you looked cute, would you think he was being flirty? Or just trying to make conversation?
