Hi could you post a private question for please? TIA
My baby boy of 11months (born nov 16) was blue lighted to hospital early this morning. He’s had a slight cough the past few nights that has disturbed him, fine during the day tho. Well myself & my partner went to bed around 1:30am ish. Come 3:30 ish little man is coughing sounding like he’s in pain trying to bring phlegm up. Won’t settle & sounds wheezey. We rang 111 after remembering a post about ‘CROUP’ (BARKING COUGH) an ambulance arrived & they got out the stethoscope on him & within seconds decided hospital was best, my partner went with him. Thankfully he’s home now after steroids but can’t help feeling guilty that I wasn’t with him. I mean I wanted to but thought my partner would calm the situation more as baby boy was upset & my worrying wouldn’t of helped matters. I ended up crying as they left etc & stayed behind to look after our 2 half year old. Make sure any emergency bottles, nappies, clothes were ready in case they we properly admitted. Did I do the right thing? I know he’s home safe & I was going to go see him (partner told me not to, they would be home in a few hours) but I can’t help but feel guilty that I decided to be the one to stay home 😢 I felt soo unless x
