Hi. Could you post for me please. Anonymously.
Anyone else in same situation and how do you deal with it? I am now waking up at night worrying about this. We are couple. Both working. One young child. Private rent. If my husband couldn’t work, my wages cover just half of our rent. With both our wages we still struggle. Rents are just really high and doubled in our area almost by half in last 6 years. There is no chance of council house in our area. I am thinking about changing job as I cannot afford to work for the money I do at the moment. I am on £11000 a year. We can’t buy as have no family who could help with deposit and we have no way of saving while paying rent. We have only few very close friends around us and moving away will destroy us. I worry what will happen in 10 yrs time when/if my husband can’t work anymore/retire. How are we going to live? If we multiply both our wages by 5 we are still short £70000 for cheapest house around here. I keep having dreams of being homeless. We never been on benefits. Never wanted to. This is seriously scaring me now.
