Hi hun, could you post private please? I need opinions on contraception please ladies. The pill isn’t suitable for me. I’m swaying between the implant and the copper coil, however I’ve seen that it’s common to gain weight on implant which I don’t want and that bleeding and problems with periods are common with the coil? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? xx

Please read up on the copper coil. I wasn’t told it’s not as effective as the mirena. 3 months after having it fitted i fell pregnant…..i now have the mirena. I have been advised the mirena is more reliable. I’ve had it for 5 months, had light bleeding a lot but its finally settling down. Can take around 6 months to settle in but lasts 5 years.
I had the implant and was hell bled for 3 weeks out of 4 every month after having it in 3 months they tried giving me pill alongside it to regulate periods and didnt work. Mood swings were awful and weight gain. I then went onto the injection and got it every 10 weeks got no bleeding no mood swings but the hormone triggered my ovarian cysts which i could cope with
I had the implant and wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy…..
I was lucky if i had 2 days of no bleeding other than that i bled constantly. Had terrible mood swings and i did gain weight with it aswell.
I now have the copper coil xx
I recently had my copper coil replaced by the Mirena, because the periods were so horrible, I would much rather gain weight than go through that again.
I have recently got the copper coil.. I have now been bleeding for 5 weeks solid and the pain is horrendous. I’m having it removed on Wednesday.
I’ve had no problems with the implant been in it twice now x
I’m getting the patch after my littlest princess arrives!💕 xxx
