Hi, I wonder if you could post this for some advice. I´m currently 17 weeks pregnant with my first baby. My husband and I live in a different country to our family, about a 3 hour flight. We think it will be too much to have our parents etc fly out for the birth and most likely stay with us so we asked everyone to give us two weeks by ourselves to bond as a family before everyone comes to visit. My mum has just messaged today saying she has booked her flight to come a week before the birth and stay until a week after (can move flights if baby is early or late). I dont know what to say to her, I dont have the most patient of relationships with her and dont want to be stressed out if she comes but then again I might need the help. Did you all really rely on family after your birth? do you think I should ask her to move her flight or will I need the help at the end of the pregnancy/first few weeks when I bring the baby home? All advice welcome x
