Hi, just wondered if I could have a post.
My 7 year old has recently started playing outside with her friends, I have been very nervous and worried about her playing where I can’t see her..
my other half has said I’m over reacting and I need to stop going on at her about where she should and shouldn’t be playing as he thinks she’s getting fed up of me going on. She knows her boundaries and knows where she isn’t allowed to play because it’s to far ect… (at least I thought she did)
I caught her playing in a little forest area the other day with her friends and when I asked her why she went in after I asked her not to, she said because her friends went in and she really wanted to play in…
half of me is thinking well I did the same as a child, I played in forests and built dens ect and I was alright but then another half of me is worried of the dangers, I get scared that someone might chase her or take her or she hurts herself and it really frightens me.. I just want to know if this is a normal feeling and if other parents feel like this when their children are playing out?
Please be nice!
Thanks

  • I think the world we live in now is far to unsafe to allow a child of that age to play out by themselves.
I have a 6yr old lad and i dont even allow him on the front…. Even playing the the back i sit out and watch bcause of our low fence on the back.
No way would i allow a 7yr old out especially were I couldn’t see them….
Sorry you asked for opionions thats mine 😀🙈

  • Yes it’s normal your kids are your world and you have to keep them safe but the reality is you cant keep them safe when they are out of your sight as the world is full of evil its a shame kids these days dont get thr privilege of roaming the woods etc due to safety reasons.
