Hi mummies, can I have a post please?

my daughter was born at 35 weeks, although she made a full recovery she’s now coming up to 2 later on this year and people are saying worrying things to me. My son was forward and I know every little one develops differently but my family have said that she doesn’t talk like she should? She says Dada, alot and small things like Woof when she sees a dog & waves and says bye to people but they’re all saying she should be saying a lot more. She talks jibberish alot instead of proper words. Should I be worried? X

  • I’d like to add my eldest daughter went to speech therapy when she was 3 as she kept dropping first letters off words , the therapist suggested that my son stopped answering for her as that’s what he was doing as it was making her lazy , within 6 months we couldn’t shut her up lol

  • I would worry if she was coming up three. Sounds fine for coming up two, to be honest. There is never any harm in just giving your hv a call, if you have any concerns – however it sounds as like it’s other people laying their concerns on you. Trust your gut instinct – you are mum !!
