Hi mummies, can I have a post please?
my daughter was born at 35 weeks, although she made a full recovery she’s now coming up to 2 later on this year and people are saying worrying things to me. My son was forward and I know every little one develops differently but my family have said that she doesn’t talk like she should? She says Dada, alot and small things like Woof when she sees a dog & waves and says bye to people but they’re all saying she should be saying a lot more. She talks jibberish alot instead of proper words. Should I be worried? X

I’d like to add my eldest daughter went to speech therapy when she was 3 as she kept dropping first letters off words , the therapist suggested that my son stopped answering for her as that’s what he was doing as it was making her lazy , within 6 months we couldn’t shut her up lol
Don’t worry about what people say my 30 weeker was walking at one and is 3 now and still talks rubbish in between the stuff you understand my 26 weeker just went 1 5 days ago and has only just sat up , they are all different narrow minded people say crap like what these folk have been saying to you
Na. Seems like they expecting too much if she’s not even 2 yet. Tell them to bugger off kids grow too quick these days anyways
Mine were born at 29 and a half weeks and they didn’t talk lot till they were 2 1/2 then they never shut up, I wouldn’t worry yet no 2 kids are the same xx
My 2 year old who was born at 35 weeks is alot more advanced than my 4 year old who was born at full term all children are different hun xx
I would worry if she was coming up three. Sounds fine for coming up two, to be honest. There is never any harm in just giving your hv a call, if you have any concerns – however it sounds as like it’s other people laying their concerns on you. Trust your gut instinct – you are mum !!
My son was born at 24weeks he didn’t sit up untill he’s first birthday crawled at 16months and walked at 19months he has had speech therapy since the age of 2 and he’s 6 now being premature it takes them a while to catch up hun I personally wouldn’t be worried but if u are talking to ur hv x
I wouldn’t worry 9 times out of 10 the second tends to be slower cos the first does/speak for them xx
I work in a nursery of 2 year olds and I wouldn’t see that as a worry ATM x
Dont worry hun. My lb didnt really start talking properly til he went to nursery
All kids are different , I wouldn’t worry tbh x
I really don’t think you should be worrying x
I don’t think you should be worrying at all!
If she doesn’t speak when she is 4 I’d worry 🙂
