Hi please can I have a post on the private page.. I’ve been with my partner 3 years and he is really bad with money, when we first got together we checked his credit history and he had like 5 defaults, I think he knew it was bad but he played it down, I was so shocked. We have just bought a house, I forked out everything 40k plus and continue to do so with the decorating etc. When he gets paid he is as generous as can be buying dinners etc but he spends his wages within like 10 days then dips into the joint account for the rest of the month leaving me short on bills. He keeps buying stuff on his bloody very and next account and then pays of like £20 a month. He’s got to be in about 2-2.5k between them both now.. it’s almost as if he orders it and thinks he never has to pay for it. I just saw on his email trash (uses my email) that he had ordered more Christmas presents for his kids when we was supposed to be going when he gets paid. I playing stupid and asked him ‘what are we doing about the rest of the kids presents?’ Oh I don’t know yet, when I get paid I’ll go yet I know full well his already made a massive order! When I bring it up he goes mental and suddenly it’s all my fault. How do I approach it without him going mental? I actually dread being in debt and bailiffs etcs and he was the reason our mortgage was soo hard to get yet now he’s just running up debts like he was before we was together 🙁
