Hi please can I have a post with picture. I’m really concerned about my 3 year old. She picks her skin till it bleeds. She did this to herself from nothing! She does it mainly in her sleep and then picks while she’s awake. We’ve tried so many things to get her to stop. She also pulls her hair out so she has big patches that feel like they’ve been shaved under her hair. As a result her hair is not growing very well and still looks like baby hair. I’ve spoken to my health visitor and Dr (both won’t help as she’s under 5!) it’s genuinely upsetting to see her coverd in cuts that scar her beautiful face. She says she needs to pick when I try and get her to stop. We think it might be trichotillomania but as no one is taking us seriously it’s impossible to get help. Has anyone been through this and got their child to stop?
