Hi
Please can I have a private post

My son is 13mths now and is doing really well on track with everything etc but I’m worried about his speech he has a tongue tie like his older brother who had speech therapy but this time round they won’t put him on the list until his 4?? Weaning with both was tricky but I got there and my eldest had speech therapy from 1 until he was 5.
My little one doesn’t open his mouth to talk except mummumum (lol) and yeah yeah yeah. It sounds like his copying what I’m saying but like a humming if that makes sense
Is it normal for children to keep their mouth shut while talking ive tried getting him to copy by eye contact and so he can see our mouth opening and moving etc how it should and he moves his mouth copying but when he sounds out goes back to closing it. I don’t know if to do with his tongue tie or just normal and what age roughly to go back to the health visitor.
My eldest spoke fine it was just pronouncing words he struggled with so I’m new to this scenario lol
I’m not sure on the age thing as it’s already changed so much with milestones for weaning, crawling, walking etc with my boys age gap
Thank u 😊
Any extra tips be much appreciated as my health visitor says she will check it at his next check up when his 4yrs old and I’m just worrying over nothing which maybe I am but at 4yrs surely if he needs extra help and support 4 will be too late as starts school 2mths after his 4th birthday
