Hi private post please. I have a history of domestic violence with my ex partner (kids father) but he was cleared of all charges a while back after managing to lie his way out of it. I’ve heard rumours that he is going to attempt to fight me for custody of our children. May be a silly question but should I be worried? My kids are happy, well looked after and cared for by me and all do well in school. I have brought them up on my own since they were babies. They see their father a couple of times a week and he pays no money towards their upkeep as he is unemployed. My worry is that my ex is a manipulative liar who will do and say anything to get his own way. Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Thank you xx

he will not get sole custody, you’d have to be an unfit mother and he’d need proof before your child is removed so dont woryy on that score. If he’s on the birth certificate and you have no proof of the DV or manipulating and he convinces a judge hes a good father, he could get 50/50 parenting and as much parental rights as you so Id advise you to start collecting evidence like any text messages etc where hes threatening/manioulating etc so you have proof
