Hiya can i get a private post please? I’m a single mum to an amazing 2 year old boy I’ve had a bit of a rocky ride recently…I left a good job for what I thought was gonna be a great new opportunity only to get about 6 months in and discover the people who had employed me didn’t have any intention of including me in business decisions, paying my salary on time or really even concerned for my welfare as an employee so it got to the point that I was forced to leave and threaten legal proceedings to be able to get 2 month’s worth of salary owed to me. Around the time I left my old job for this new position I met a new partner and fell pregnant quite quickly (despite being on birth control!!) So then I was unemployed, pregnant with a 2 year old and still living alone because I felt it was too soon to change my living situation. Anyway I managed to get work in a public sector job through an agency but I didn’t mention my pregnancy because I couldn’t get work pregnant no matter how many applications and interviews (about 30 applications, 5 interviews) my question is…has anyone taken on a job and told their employer they were pregnant a short time later? What were the reactions? Does anyone know what my rights are? I know that I’m entitled to nothing while on leave except for whatever my govt entitlement will be….any advice would be GREAT!! Thank you…sorry for chapter and verse…xx
