I am separating from my boyfriend of four years and we have two babies together. He has another child from a previous relationship. With regards to financial help towards the child, how do Child Maintenance calculate it? Do they split it between both mothers or do they split it between the three children? Also if I make a private arrangement with the father, do we inform Child Maintenance? Or would they not be interested?
We’re good friends I just want to know what I’m entitled to. I don’t want to leave him to struggle and I know he’ll go above and beyond to help if he needs to
