I live in a medium sized block of flats and there are a family that have quite a large dog in one of the flats. Last week as I was coming in the communal hallway and chatting with this neighbour who had the dog on a lead I asked if he was OK to stroke and was told yeah hes fine, as I went to, the dog went for me but was pulled back by the owner who smacked him and really apologised but I was a bit shaken up. I have children and there are other children living here. I know they are responsible owners but the entrances to the building are all communal and everyone has to use them and I’m now worried this could happen again to someone else but not sure what I could do, maybe ask the landlord to reiterate to everyone who has a dog that they must be on a lead at all times or something along those lines about others’ safety? Just a bit nervous now in case we have to pass the dog again soon
