I’m a bit confused, had a new midwife… Didn’t really explain much to me about the glucose test.
I’ve made an appointment at my doctors, but reading the form it says hospital!
Which one shall I go to?

  • I’ve just had my glucose test Wednesday, I went to the midwife.
She took my blood, I then drank some liquid and had to sit in the waiting area for 2 hours after the 2 hours she took more bloods. I am still awaiting results
Make sure you fast from 10pm the night before

  • I have had a fair few of these tests ( had GD twice and a strong family history ) and usually it’s the hospital, make sure you don’t throw up within the 2 hours coz you will have to do the test again 😷 the stuff u drink is a lot nicer now than it used to
Be, before it was like flat coke with the consistency of cough medicine 😷 the last time I had it it was just like a Capri sun, a lot better x

  • My Midwife let’s hosp know I needed 1, and then i had letter in post with appt. I wasn’t allowed to eat from 8pm and my appt was at 8am. Had to take blood, then drink a sugary drink. Hang round hosp for 2 hrs and then have another blood test to see how body absorbed sugar. If anything up get call by end of day
