Looking for advice about headlice. Not how to treat them or prevent them. How to speak to parents about the fact that their kids have them and it’s their responsibility to treat them! The teachers have told them their children have lice but they’ve just reacted like “so what?” And the school has sent notices out and these parents are still not doing anything about it! You can see clusters of empty egg cases all along these kids hairlines and they’re constantly scratching. I’ve even seen lice fall onto their shirts when they’re scratching in the line waiting to go in. Not only is it bloody expensive and frustrating for the other parents who are having to treat their kids on a constant cycle, it’s got to be uncomfortable and embarrassing for the kids! Clearly, the teachers pulling the parents to one side and telling them isn’t having an effect. They’ve got four children at the school, in two different classes (combined year groups) and I know that other parents are becoming frustrated with these particular parents because they’re keeping the problem going. They’ve got the money to buy head lice treatment but seems like they haven’t got the message that they actually need to do it. I feel like I want to go up to them when we are all waiting to pick the kids up and loudly asking them if they can please finally treat their children for their lice problem, because it’s getting beyond a joke- maybe that little bit of public shaming will do the trick?
