My 15 month old can’t say any words. He makes lots of different noises and understands things I say but is just yet to speak. My health visitor wants to refer him to the speech and language therapist.. is this necessary? Anyone else been in the same position? Thanks x

My LB was exactly the same. He is now 4 and I can’t keep him quiet for 2 minutes. (Even talks in his sleep lol) he didn’t go to speech therapy. All children devolp in their own time. My HV said they concentrate on one thing at a time. He was saying the old few words at 2 then more at 3. Started school last September and he his speech improved so much when he was at school. Xx
I would honestly do it because waiting list can take up to a year …. but don’t stress my daughter started talking after 2 and a half
