Nit Nurse Come Back

Should the nit nurse be brought back?

One mother has been trying to start a campaign to bring them back?

She has met with mixed views.

Some feel it is an invasion of their childs rights and privacy.

Where as other parents welcome it back, many parents are fed up of their child continuously coming home having caught nits off of their class mates.

We asked several mums their thoughts on it:

“I feel if it’s acceptable to check if my child is over weight and send a letter home if they are, then why can’t they check for nits, it’s no more an invasion of privacy then the height and weight check”.

Another said “I don’t want my child to be embarrassed in front of her class mates if she did have them”.

We asked just over 200 parents and found that 127 would welcome it back if it were done discreetly and no embarrassment is caused to child and parent.

Whats your thoughts let us know in the comments.

I say DEFINATLY bring back the nit nurse !!!!! I see my daughter struggle day after day week after week de-Nitting her two children’s hair. She’s a single mum & can ill afford £17 every few weeks & it’s all down the ignorance of some parents who probably arnt even aware that their child is infested.
