Ok so it might be a little long, but I’m besides myself, so basically I was renting an apartment with my little girl, lived there for 4 years and I feel slightly behind on the rent (though personal circumstances please don’t judge) anyway I started looking for a new place for me and her to live, I never said anything to my landlord as I wasn’t confirmed to want to move yet, basically I put down my landlord as a reference because we ve always had a grand relationship and I’ve been a good tenant for the past 4 years, so the new estate agent rang him and told him I’d applied to move there and my landlord really wasn’t happy saying I didn’t inform him, so a week later in the post I got a notice to move out in the post for the 16th of this month, I hadn’t anywhere to move to at that stage but I got sorted out, basically I had to pack up my belongings of 4 years, move with my daughter and sort my new place out while forking out thousands of pounds … so I didn’t get all of my stuff out in time, but my landlord has hired a renting agent for his flat now and she has messaged me flat out demanding that I do as she says kind of thing, lastnight she messaged me at 11.45pm and told me she had numerous calls because the flat had an alarm going off and all the windows lying wide open, my daughter hadn’t been very well and I informed them of this, telling them she d been in hospital and that was the cause of delay on moving out, they didn’t care and told me that I needed to go to flat immediately as it was a security risk… I don’t drive, so at 11.45 at night I had to travel to check the apartment out, all lies! The two windows where on a latch and no alarm at all! My partner who had work early this morning took me over and was livid! I informed the girl and she didn’t even reply. She told me this morning about leaving the key with her as they were getting locks changed today… legally where do I stand as some of my belongings are still in the property? Can she get the locks changed? Thanks sorry for long post
