Please post anon

I’m looking to get a passport. The problem is I got married and within 5 months he ran off and left me. I never changed my name on anything other than my marriage certificate. I can not locate him to file for divorce. Can I apply for a passport in my original name without getting into trouble. Any advice is greatfully appreciated.

  • To be fair if you go on a honeymoon straight after your wedding, your passport would still be in your maiden name, and you have more evidence of yourself in your maiden name then your married name, I would just apply in your maiden name x

  • I divorced and changed back to my maiden name. I was told to just book my holiday in name on my passport

  • Yes. I got married and didn’t change my surname. Luckily for me as we split up after 7 months. I got a passport fine.

  • I got married and as my passport was only 3 yr old I never changed it as they said just travel in your maiden name

  • Yes you can. You don’t need to change your name on anything if you don’t want to. I have a passport in my maiden name. You will just need to send a copy off your marriage certificate and birth certificate with the application.
