Please post..how long after a c-section did everyone drive again,and how did you go about it..did you have to contact insurance,gp? I contacted my insurance and they said it’s up to the DVLA?I’m so confused. I want to be able to take my 2 older children to and from school and it’s a drive away. Its 2 weeks tomorrow since my c- section somebody please help! Thank you.

I drove after one week which was a big mistake. My baby was in NICU and after stopping with her for a week I swapped with her dad so I could spend the weekend with my other daughter, but my baby fell poorly so I drove 20 miles there and 20 back to the hospital, ended up bursting my stitches open and was taken back to hospital by ambulance later that night.
Take it easy and be careful, get the ok from your doctor first
I drove after about 2/3 weeks, my insurance company said I was fine to drive as long as I could perform an emergency stop and wasn’t on strong painkillers etc c
I rang my insurance company and they said when I felt ready saw a doctor at 3 weeks and they said I was fit to drive only went to school n back which ment to main roads
3 weeks I drove as I felt ready. I felt ready after 2 but gave myself an extra week to make sure lol. Couldn’t have waited the 6 weeks they recommend
I drove after a week and 3 days after my c section. I believe as long as you feel safe to do an emergancy stop with hurting yourself.
My insurance told me I had to be given the OK by my doctor. I waited 6 weeks. It’s just not worth the risk to yourself and others x
I was told 4 weeks by the doctor, phoned insurance n they said they go by what ur doctor has told you. I started driving 4 weeks after my c-section.
After my section 5 years ago I drove as soon as my oh went back to work about a week and bit I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to insurances ECT… I felt fine tho and I healed just fine 😊
it’s ment to be 6 weeks. I’ve had 2 c sections and waited around 5 weeks to drive again xx
I drove after a week as my baby was born at 28 weeks so had to visit him in Nicu. I felt fine and had no problems x
I work for an insurance company what we usually advise is as long as your gp has said it’s ok that’s fine with us. Hth x
