Bit of a long one I’m afraid
But need advice

I have a good friend who is also a neighbour
We both have boys age 11
(Going seniors September)
Anyway
We’ve been close friends 4 years
Her boy has autism
And has literally no friends
He doesn’t interact at with children at all
And as much as he is a nice kid (kind heart, funny, etc,) he is very hard work and not much fun to be around I’m afraid to say
Anyway he has never been to Party’s etc (my boy invites him to his) I have to really
He doesn’t join in
Sits in corner
We’ve had leaving party’s for the year 6’s over last few weeks
He can’t cope with the noise
He doesn’t mix with the other children
My boy is complete opposite, very social
Friendly popular etc
He has helped this boy no end last year and helped him make a few friends and has played with him out on the st and park.
The other boy is going to a different school September to all the other boys (because his autism)
Any way last few weeks have been very awkward
My boy is always out, gets invited for days out with friends, kids from the village knock for him
I almost always have 6/7 kids knocking and a house full
I love my friend but feel she is envious she had a right go at me other night
Coz my boy had gone skate park with a group of the the others and another parent.
She was ranting saying how it want fair they her boy is always left out
I know how horrible this sounds but it’s true
No one wants the responsibility of taking this child
He cannot cope at these places, he isn’t friends with most of them, he is rude (not intentionally)
He gets upset that he can’t do the things others can do
As In run, climb, skate etc.
(He is also very over weight) which doesn’t help
The physical Sife of He has melt downs
It stops the others having fun and enjoying themselves
I told my boy he has to include her boy as it’s not fair I’ve told he has to ask the other boy out etc
And he has and has tried
But he came to me upset
It’s not working out
My boy now can’t go skate park with his friends
Through fear of upsetting my friend and her boy
I feel bad for my friend
Bit also feel bad for my boy and feeling shit that I’ve handled it wrong
Should I of stood up to her more
I feel awful for her but surely
Kids should be kids and make their own friends and minds up
How do I tell her this or even should I
I’m proud of my boy for standing up and being this boys friend
But now it’s affecting his school holidays
